SQLDiffer - the data differencing engine
SQLDiffer is very simple in concept. It is a tool for comparing two different
sets of data and helping you find the differences. It can be used to compare
the results of two different database queries either from the same or different
databases.
SQLDiffer retrieves the two sets of data from the database and visually
displays the datasets. The differences and similarites between the datasets are
highlighted allowing fast comparison between the data. SQLDiffer also allows
maching items to be hidden to easily navigate through dataset differences.
The latest version of SQLDiffer can be downloaded for free from
the downloads page. This is the completely functional version that will
nag you on start up about registering (in the manner of Winzip).

A few examples of SQLDiffer usage
Albert is a sales person and needs to keep track of whether
there are any differences between the contact list on his laptop and the
headquarters database for his sales region.
Alistair is trying to reconcile the year-end accounts and
wants a flexible way of chasing down where those discrepancies are coming from.
Roger is a database administrator and wants to know what
orders have been placed since last nights back-up.
Alice is in software quality assurance and wants to be assured
that the new version of the software affected the database the same way as the
previous version of the software.
Of course, many of these questions could be answered by appropriately designed
database and a standard report. But if you need to compare two sets of data NOW
and your current database design is not sympathetic to your needs then maybe
SQLDiffer is what you need. The latest version can be downloaded for free from
the downloads page and can be up and running in ten minutes even over a
dial-up internet connection.

identification of differences.You can show all the rows in each grid or only

Occasionally it is useful to cluster the results in SQLDiffer for easier

to group them by customer for easier assimilation.
